You will need to find 2 recipes to create a cookbook spread with, it doesn't matter what the recipes are. Start a new document, regular paper size with 2 facing pages. Your cookbook page spread must include the following:
Title
1 text box as a shape with text
1 text box with altered font spacing and font size with text
2 text boxes linked together
1 Text box with 2 columns
1 Text box with a Stroke OR a Back Color
A transformed image (see tutorial to help you)
2 Character Styles applied to all headings that go together (Use the Tutorial to help)
1 Paragraph Styles applied to all body font (Use the Tutorial to help)
2 Uses of Bullets Lists (see tutorial to help)
2 Uses of Numbered Lists (see tutorial to help)
2 image with a object style
2 shapes
In addition to including the elements above, you also need to make sure that it is designed well. We have reviewed everything you will be using in this project already, so you may want to refer back to previous actives or I have posted to Adobe Guides to help you!
When you have finished, you will save it as an .indd and a .pdf file, saving the files as LastName + FirstName + Period + Cookbook and turn in both Scales when you are finished.
Files Needed
Download the folder of Yearbook images, you will not have to use all of these. Your page should not only have a clean and organized layout, but good design as well. Remember that a Yearbook page should utilize the ENTIRE page, leaving no blank spaces and going all the way to the edge of the page.
When you have finished, you will save it as an .indd and a .pdf file, saving the files as LastName + FirstName + Period + MiniYearbook and turn in both Scales via AirDrop when you are finished.
Include the following:
6 images total
All images must have a caption (see tutorial to the right)
1 images as a new shape
All images need a Object style of a drop shadow and bevel
3 shapes
3 text boxes with placeholder text
1 title
When you have finished, you will save it as an .indd and a .pdf file, saving the files as LastName + FirstName + Period + Yearbook and turn in both Scales when you are finished.
Files Needed
Make sure you have PUBLISHED your portfolio, Made your portfolio PUBLIC and made your share settings "anyone with the link"
InDesign Get to Know Ya!
1. Put your bag at the front and your phone in TO.
2. Add InDesign to your Dock.
3. Open InDesign.
4. Create a new 8.5 X 11 Document.
5. Add two ellipse frames
6. Apply two images to the frames. Fill the frames proportionally.
7. Add another frame of text on top of one of the images. Fill with placeholder text.
8. Make a text wrap around the ellipse you covered with text. Choose to wrap around your object.
9. Check your Preflight. Resolve any errors.
10. Save your InDesign document as “Practice” on your desktop as a 2024 InDesign Document.
11. Open a new document and play around with it.
